The steel hardened pulling capstan of 1500 mm contact circumference is driven by a gear motor at speed ranging from O up 55 mt/minute. Each taping head is driven by its own brushless motor up to 2000 rpm, al so regulated (as for the rotation direction) from the command panel. The tape break and tape failure are checked by photocells; the presence of the conductor (to be taped), by a capacity operated proximity sensor. The machine is complete of transparent guards of the taping section, whose door opening is prevented by a sensor of the machine operation. The machine is predisposed for the installation of an exhauster device in order to extract the mica-glass powder produced by the tape friction.
